maybe you were right

maybe you were right

maybe you get so used
to feeling trapped that
you don't see a way out, that
when the worst happens,
you stay fairly balanced
because you expected it

you throw away / push away /
give away / let go of /
sully / abandon
that which can lead
to other ways of being
because you don't believe
things can be different

who stayed?

setting off
and getting off,
who did you say goodbye to?

who said
don't go?

who followed?

who stayed
keeping watch
hoping you'd come back?

Corbyn Victory Party at the Leicester for Peace vigil

Corbyn Victory Party

at the Leicester Against War / Leicester for Peace vigil
Clock Tower, Leicester
9 June 2017

5.30pm till 6.30pm

Leicester Against War / Leicester For Peace invites you to a party to celebrate Jeremy Corbyn's victory in the 2017 General Election.

The party will take place at the Clock Tower, from 5.30pm till 6.30pm, on Friday, June 9, as part of the Leicester Against War / Leicester for Peace vigil.

The vigil started in December 2015 and is calling for: an end to British military intervention in Syria and Yemen; and, an end to the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia.

The vigil is held in solidarity with people everywhere who are bearing the brunt of war and violence as well as those who are looking for refuge and is the longest running current protest of its kind in Britain.

Bring multi-coloured pavement chalk, homemade posters, drums, real or improvised musical instruments to the Victory Party and let's remind 10 Downing Street and Westminster of the Britain we want.

come up for air

imagine unicorns and rainbows
and flowers in bloom

imagine a world full
of butterflies,
bumblebees and hummingbirds

go back to the time
when there was dancing
in the rain

stay there
for as long as you need
